Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. — James 1:2-4
James tells us to consider all joy when we encounter trials. Be joyful in trials? How are we supposed to be joyful when a loved one dies, we get ill, or when we encounter any other number of hardships? I’ve been studying this passage and thinking about it a lot lately, and hopefully I can share what I have learned in a way that will help you understand joy during trials.
